To celebrate the arrival of Spring, I have created the September Designer Kit using the the "Time For Spring" range of papers from Fancy Pants. And I hope you are ready for some serious inspiration, because this month's designer is about to "knock your socks off" with her awesome layouts and cards.
There are very limited numbers available in the store. Just click here to purchase.
Firstly, let's get to know our September Designer a little better.
Introducing the amazingly talented, international designer, Guiseppa Gubler. I took this opportunity to ask Guiseppa some questions about her life and scrapping addicition, and here are her answers.
1. Husband? Children? Pets?
I have been married to my sweet husband Sam for 15 years. We have 3 children; Braden 16, Janica 14 and our Angel Sterling who passed away seven years ago from "The Bubble Boy Disease".
2. Do you have your own scraproom? Describe where you scrap or supply a photo.
I currently share a space with my husband because he works from home. He would tell you he has a tiny shelf in the closet and I have the rest. Yes, I take up most of the space in the office/scrapbook room, but a girl needs her space for all her scrappy goodies.
3. How long have you been scrapping?
I started scrapbooking in 1996 when I was pregnant with my oldest son. So, I guess that would be 16 years. Wow...the industry has changed a lot since then.
4. Favorite color or color combination? Least favorite color to scrap with?
I love blues and greens. When buying or just picking out the papers and embellishments I want to use on a project...I tend to gravitate towards the blues and greens. I am not a huge fan of purple. Rarely and I mean rarely have I ever scrapped with it. It would be hard for you to find a purple piece of patterned paper in my stash.
5. Do you have a dream team you would like to be on?
There are several manufacturers I love, but I think along with many scrappers out there...Prima would be my pick. I love all of the gorgeous flowers, pearls, crystals and embellishments.
6. Do you use paper or cardstock for you layout base?
I used to use a lot of cardstock, but recently I have been using more patterned paper.
7. Black, white or craft?
I would have to say white. I love matting my photos in white and using it for journaling. It works for me because it stands out.
8. Favorite scrapper? Who inspires you?
Wow...there are so many. You should see my blog list. Right now, I am really in love with Jaime Warren. I love how she uses her embellishments, whole page and how she layers. Her layouts always have appeal to me and I love how they flow.
9. Favorite technique? Least favorite?
If using foam adhesive to add dimension to my projects is a technique...than that's it! I love layers and dimension. I don't create without foam adhesive. In fact, I should have taken out stock in it! I really don't have a least favorite. I love to dip into all kinds of things...go exploring.
10. Favorite manufacturer? Favorite product?
Besides the manufacturers that I design for, (GCD Studios, Imaginisce, Authentique and Simple Stories and Prima...my dream team to be on one day) I would have to say My Minds Eye. I love the quality of the paper and the designs are always something I know I would use. I love the fact that their collections are all so different.
Now for the exciting bit. I gave Guiseppa one of the September Kits and said "have fun and play!". Do you want to see what she created with this kit? Not only did Guiseppa create two layouts to inspire you, but she also created two gorgeous, fun cards as well.
Lets' have a look at Guiseppa's projects, and a few close-ups photographs...
Dirty Camping Face: Even though Kenzie's cute little face is so dirty...I wanted to make this layout girly. I framed one of her pictures using some ribbon. Since this ribbon has ruffles, it gave the this framed look dimension.
Live For Today: I love creating clusters of embellishments. I do this using foam adhesive to create layers and dimension. As you can see on this layout I have a cluster near the title and one on the bottom by the journaling.
I Love You Card:I love cards that surprise me and are different. This one is a pocket card with a sweet sentiment inside.
Friend Card: Here is another card that is unique. It is called a nesting card and it opens up one door at a time to reveal the sentiment inside.
So who's ready to jump into Spring with all this amazing inspiration? I don't know about you, but I can't wait to try my hand at recreating Guiseppa's cards.
(I'm not a card maker so this will be my challenge for the month, lol!)
A big thank-you to Guiseppa for sharing her truly inspirational projects with us.
