You Are Out Of This World

Hey all! Leah here and I am so excited to be doing my first tutorial for you guys! I made a small card set and wanted to show how you can use your stamps to make a coordinating background paper.

You want to start by going through your stamps and finding some coordinating images. You want a large focal image and then something secondary to match, you may want to do smaller but that depends on what you like, but smaller will look better in the background.

These photos are a couple examples of sets that can easily be used for this technique.

I started with stamping my image on black cardstock and embossing with white embossing powder. Colored pencils on black cardstock just looks so cool! Before coloring your main image try some test colors on the black because not every color looks right on the black, so play a little before doing the real thing.
I also stamped in Frost Versamark with a small star stamp, adding just a little something to the focal image.

Okay, okay, before you look at this and think its a hot mess..it is, LOL, but the edges are clear even if there was some embossing powder that stuck to the inside (remember it will be covered and only showing the edges.) Make sure to rotate the stamped image around the outside edge so it has an appearance of being more like real printed paper. Here I embossed again with white powder, the embossing adds so much more to this technique!

This time I stamped and embossed black onto white cardstock and cut it out. Cut little addition to the inside!

I totally forgot to get a good photo of these before giving one away so here is quick photo I took with my cell phone. Not perfect but you can see the complete set! The sentiment in computer generated. I made a text box in black and then made the text white, then cut it out leaving some white border...

Something simple but oh so cool..makes me excited to pull out more of my stamps and try more for making my own backgrounds!!! Thank you so much for coming by and checking this out!!!
xoxo Leah
