Hi everyone
Well after our recent move the girls and I did a lot of kulling but Shannon came across her little drawers that she's had since she was little.
It was painted but she had added to it covering it with stickers.
When I saw that she was throwing this out I took it and grabbed the electric sander and removed all the stickers and glue that was used to stick them on. Took a bit of sanding and needed the electric sander rather than a hand sanding block.
I sanded it back and got it pretty flush again, the glue was a little tough to remove. You can see in the image here where the stickers were.
Found some nice paper to cover it with that was in my stash and something more for her age now.
After sanding I decided that the paint was still ok and now had a nice shabby look to it so I just dusted it off ready to revamp.
Measuring up the top, sides and the drawer fronts, I cut the paper just under the size of each so that it doesn't go right to the edges.
Using pva glue I painted the box with plenty of glue to allow me to slide the paper around to fit.
Allowed this to dry (well almost, I am just too impatient LOL!!) Sand the edges of the paper to give the distressed look. Best to wait till completely dry or you might rip the paper.
Using a left over scrap of the pattered paper I cut out a bird and 3d it on the top front drawer and adhered a couple of flowers to cover up a part bird that was cut for the drawer.
I also used Kaiser and Prima flowers on the top of the drawers to cover another bird and blend with the other flowers on the paper.
On the bottom draw I cut down some new Prima bling with the lace.
So now the jewellery box drawers have now been revamped and Shannon is absolutely delighted with her new drawers, no longer wanting them in the rubbish and no need to buy another set.
So now rather than throwing away and buying new again just revamp it with a little sanding, paint, paper, flowers and of course bling.
until next time...

What a great project...looks like it was some work but also really fun and it certainly turned out totally great! I am sure Shannon loved it! I have something similar and should turn it into something more suited for my little girl...she'd love that!!!
